Watched the first 1/2 of the Remix Manifesto in another class this week. I really dig it, I plan to look up the rest. It was nice to see everything we’ve been talking about in terms of remix r/w culture and copyright law coming together. Our good friends Lawrence Lessig and Cory Doctorrow were strong voices in the film and it was nice to here them speak aloud after having read their writings. I liked the mix of edgy radicalism from the director/ narrator of being strongly against copyright policies while still maintaining an intellectual stand on understanding where the law if at. I think Brett Gaylor takes a much harder edge and has more of an agenda than some of the other sources we’ve looked at, which I think serves to activate his audience in a good way.
